Design Process
Deloitte’s Future of Canada Centre commisioned us to create a visual identity and a name for
their report. The report is a challenge, a path forward and a call for action to Canadian
governments, business leaders, and citizens to work together. It outlines a vision for a thriving Canada in 2030.
We named the report ‘Catalyst,’ since catalyst is defined as ‘an agent that provokes or speeds significant change or action.’
Inspired by the Future of Canada Centre’s thought leaders who ‘put the future into focus for Canada,’ our visual identity embraces the idea of ‘framing.’ The report cover, which features a circular ring nods to Deloitte’s iconic dot and draws attention to the future horizon ahead. The Catalyst look is high end magazine-inspired, with typography that takes a stance, bold photography and thoughtful negative space.
